Our approach
Our approach to learning is grounded in relationships and responsive teaching.
We follow Te Whāriki, Aotearoa New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, and support learning through play that is guided by children’s interests and everyday experiences. Kaiako observe children closely and use these observations to plan learning that supports confidence, independence, and curiosity.
We value He waka eke noa – we are all in this together, and believe strong, reciprocal relationships between tamariki, kaiako, whānau, and the wider community are essential to learning and wellbeing.
Our practice places particular emphasis on:
Self-control (te mana whaiaro)
Self-respect (te whakaute whaiaro)
Language (te reo, te reo, te reo)
Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori are woven into daily routines, and the cultures of all families are welcomed and respected.
