Learning for All Age Groups
Every day at Pukeko Preschool Treehouse follows a familiar routine that helps children feel secure and confident in their environment.
For children who are new to our centre, our established tamariki often help lead the way, supporting them to settle in and become part of our community.
Children of all ages are supported throughout the day in ways that reflect their stage of development and individual needs.
Babies are supported through warm, responsive care, sensory exploration and one-to-one interactions, with a strong focus on language, comfort and security.
Toddlers are encouraged to explore their environment, build confidence and develop social skills through play, movement and guided support.
Preschoolers take part in learning experiences that build independence, communication, problem-solving and social understanding through play and group activities.

Starting the Morning
Children arrive throughout the morning and settle in at their own pace. Some are ready to jump straight into play, while others prefer to take their time. Our kaiako support each child in a way that suits them.
Morning Play and Learning
Kaiako set up activities based on children's interests, ideas and current learning. Children can choose whether to join these activities or continue with their own play. Art, dress-ups, outdoor play and the covered sandpit are always popular choices.
Morning tea is shared together.
Mat Time
In the preschool, children take part in mat time during the morning and afternoon. These group times include waiata, stories, movement songs, conversations and learning together.
Lunch and Rest Time
Lunch is enjoyed together before rest time.
All meals are prepared onsite in our kitchen, which operates under National Programme 2 food safety requirements.
Children who need sleep or rest are supported in our dedicated babies' sleep room and preschool sleep space, while others enjoy quieter activities.
Preschool Programme
Children aged 4–5 years take part in our preschool programme after lunch.
The programme supports children as they prepare for the transition to school through activities designed for older learners.
Home Time
Afternoon tea is shared before children begin heading home.
As families arrive, kaiako share highlights and connect with parents and whānau about their child's experiences and wellbeing.
