He ahurei te katoa – Where Everybody is Somebody
At Pukeko Treehouse, we believe every child is unique and deserves to feel valued, respected and supported to thrive.
Located in the heart of Nawton, Hamilton, our Centre provides quality early childhood education for children aged 0–6 years in a warm, welcoming environment where children and families feel a true sense of belonging.
Since opening in 2016, we have built strong relationships with local families and are proud to be a well-established part of our community.
Our Approach
We recognise that children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful relationships. Guided by Te Whāriki, New Zealand's early childhood curriculum, and influenced by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our experienced teaching team takes the time to get to know each child as an individual, following their interests, strengths and curiosities to create engaging learning experiences.
We believe learning happens everywhere – through conversation, creativity, problem-solving, friendships, outdoor adventures and everyday experiences.
At Pukeko Preschool Treehouse, we value He waka eke noa – we are all in this together. We believe strong, reciprocal relationships between tamariki, kaiako, whānau and the wider community are essential to learning and wellbeing.
We place particular emphasis on developing self-control (te mana whaiaro), self-respect (te whakaute whaiaro) and language (te reo). Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori are woven throughout our daily programme, and the cultures, languages and identities of all families are welcomed and respected.
By working closely with whānau, we support children to grow in confidence, develop independence and build strong foundations for lifelong learning.
A Place to Learn, Grow and Belong
Our unique outdoor treehouse, inviting learning environments and experienced teaching team provide children with opportunities to explore, discover and develop at their own pace.
Many of our teachers have been part of the Pukeko Preschool Treehouse journey for many years, providing the consistency, care and trusted relationships that help children feel safe, secure and ready to learn.
Whether your child is taking their first steps into early childhood education or preparing for the transition to school, we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.
Nau mai, haere mai – we would love to welcome you to Pukeko Preschool Treehouse.
